The Lion and the Mouse
A lion is taking a walk. He meets a little mouse.
He says to the mouse, "I can kill you."
"Do not kill me, please," says the mouse.
"No," says the lion. "I will not kill you."
"Thank you," says the mouse. "Some day I will help you."
"You?" says the lion. "You are very little. You cannot help a big Hon."
"I do not know," says the mouse. And the mouse runs off to her hole.
A man puts up a net. He wants to catch the lion.
The lion does not see the net and falls into it. He cannot get out and begins to roar.
The little mouse hears him and runs out of her hole. She sees the lion in the net and runs up to him.
"I will help you," says the little mouse.
"You?" says the lion. "You are very little. You cannot help me."
"I will bite the cords with my teeth," says the little mouse.
The mouse bites one cord. Then she bites another cord, then another, then another.
And so the lion gets out of the net.
